At Under the Loblollies, we believe in the power of art not just to inspire, but to uplift and directly support our community.

We’re launching Art with Immediate Impact to help those who are facing immediate hardship — neighbors who have done everything right but find themselves in crisis with nowhere else to turn. These are individuals and families who have worked hard, lived within their means, and contributed to their communities, but now face urgent financial need due to unexpected life events — like medical leave without pay, a sudden job layoff, or other emergencies that make paying rent or bills impossible in the short term.

Why This Campaign?

Government and nonprofit systems are stretched thin. Many hardworking people, especially single parents, in sudden need are slipping through the cracks, unable to access timely assistance. As artists, we may not be able to write checks — but we can give what we do have: our time, our talents, our skills, and our hearts.

How It Works

• We will be selling original art through our platform.

• On campaign designated items we will only collect:

  • Shipping costs

  • Taxes

  • A nominal 10-15% of the sale price to cover materials and supplies

• All remaining funds, including any additional contributions from generous buyers, will be donated directly to a vetted neighbor in immediate need.

This is not charity from a distance — it’s community action through creativity. Every piece sold is an act of care, with direct impact.

Who Is a Neighbor in Need?

A neighbor in need is someone who:

• Has been diligently working and managing their responsibilities

• Often is a single parent.

• Is facing a temporary, critical hardship (e.g., unpaid medical leave, layoff)

• Cannot access traditional financial help quickly enough

• Needs immediate assistance to keep a roof over their head or manage a crisis

We carefully vet each recipient to ensure donations go exactly where they're needed — no overhead, no bureaucracy, just real help for real people.

How You Can Help

• Buy art — every purchase of campaign designated art directly contributes.

• Share the campaign — spread the word to friends, collectors, and those who believe in the power of community.

• Give more, if you’re able — if you’d like to include an additional gift above the price of the art, it will go entirely to the individual or family in need.

Art may not save the world. But together, we can soften the blow of hardship for someone who needs a hand right now — from a neighbor, not a system.
